In this unit students will understand that multiplication and division can be used to solve measurement problems involving liquid measurement (l) and mass (g and kg). They will build on their understanding that multiplication or division may be used to solve the same problem. They will also develop a better understanding of liters, grams, and kilograms.

 We can use division to solve problems involving measurement quantities (including liquid volumes and masses of objects).
 The relationship between multiplication and division sometimes enables us to choose which operation to use; not all problems are either "multiplication problems" or "division problems".
