Big Ideas: Elimination can be an efficient method of solving a system of equations in standard form. Students will look at a context through pictures and see how they can manipulate the pictures to help solve the system. Then they will solve the system of equations using elimination, which builds on of prior knowledge of writing equations in standard form from contexts and leads toward solving a system from that context.
