Big Ideas: The qualitative properties of functions are used to model and analyze real-world applications. Relations and functions can be represented numerically, graphically, algebraically, and/or verbally. In this lesson students use the information that they have learned regarding various types of graphs to sketch graphs from verbal descriptions. Students should understand that a graphical representation must correlate to its verbal description. They further solidify their understanding of how variables within functions are related. Special Materials: graph paper straight edge/ruler
