This lesson is designed to help students closely look at the relationship between Pocahontas and John Smith over time. The lesson begins with a rereading aloud of the text followed by a partner read aloud. Students then may work in small groups or with partners to revisit the text and answer the text dependent questions, recording their answers on their student notes sheets. The focus question is then answered independently.
Special Materials:
Text, student notes sheet, pencils.
