Big Ideas:
You can use substitution when given equations in slope-intercept form to solve a system of equations.
Students will look at a context of two friends driving at different rates. They will use substitution to solve a system of equations when it is written in slope-intercept form. This builds off of prior knowledge of writing equations from context and leads to solving a system from that context.
