Big Ideas: Solutions to a system of inequalities context reside in the intersection of the corresponding half-planes and within the constraints of the context. In this task, students will look at two contexts and write systems of inequalities. With those inequalities, they will graph and check two solution points that satisfy the inequalities and the contextual situations. Students will use their prior knowledge of writing inequalities in two variables from a context. This lesson builds toward writing and graphing non-linear inequalities from a context. Vocabulary: inequality, system of inequalities, constraints Special Materials: graph paper ruler color pencils (optional)
