Big Ideas: Convert standard form into vertex form in order to find the vertex of a parabola. Convert vertex form into standard form in order to find the zeros of the parabola. The a- value is the same whether in vertex form or in standard form. In this lesson, students will explore the graphs of quadratic equations by using the information presented in the graph, solving for a, and writing equivalent equations in vertex and standard form for the graph.
