Big Ideas: Understand the meaning of points of intersection within the context of a problem. Systems of equations can be solved by substitution and checked by graphing. In this lesson, students will solve a system of equations by using substitution in order to find the points of intersection. The points of intersection of the equations will be found as solutions to the system and used to aid in graphing the system. The points of intersection will be related back to the context of the problem to determine the meaning and relevance of the values that are found.
