Big Ideas: Students will be able to construct the altitudes of a triangle and construct different types of triangles and verify their results. This lesson should take place after the lessons on the other three centers of a triangle. This lesson introduces the perpendicular line through a point not on the line construction and the equilateral triangle construction. Students will use this material again in other parts of the course when asked to construct altitudes, or perpendicular lines through a point not on the line.
