Big Ideas:
Exact solutions of linear systems can be found algebraically.
A variable from a linear system can be eliminated using the addition and multiplication properties of equality in order to solve the system.
Students will algebraically solve a system of equations using elimination by both multiplication and addition. They will build upon their knowledge of utilizing elimination as a means of solving a system. Students will continue to apply the addition property of equality, but it will become secondary to applying the multiplication property of equality in order to solve the linear system.
