Big Ideas: Numbers can be written in multiple forms. The expanded form of a number shows the value of each digit. In this lesson, students will be converting numbers written in expanded form into their standard forms. By focusing on the values of each digit, students will combine hundreds with hundreds, tens with tens, and ones with ones until they find the completed expanded form in order to write the standard form.
