Big Ideas: Rational decimals are subject to integer rules and properties, including the distributive property. Everyday problems may require operations with decimals. This lesson builds on the previous work of solving single variable equations with integers, applying the distributive property, and collecting like terms. Students will use decimal coefficients to find how many adults and how many children went to the zoo when the total admission price for the entire group is given. Vocabulary: rational decimal
