Lesson objective: Count from a number other than one.

This lesson helps to build fluency with rote counting from a number other than one (up to 50). A number chart is used here because it supports the student in remembering the counting sequence. This work develops students' understanding that the number sequence remains the same regardless of the starting number.

Students engage in Mathematical Practice 7 (Look for and make use of structure) as they notice a structure in the counting sequence and use that structure to begin counting anywhere along the sequence.
