Big Ideas: In a line of best fit, the intercept represents the expected value of y when x=0. This lesson builds on the students' knowledge of linear functions and y-intercept. They can take this knowledge and apply it to statistics. The task has students analyze a line of best fit to make a prediction and to explain what the y-intercept means in terms of the context of the problem.
