Big Ideas: You can write a function from a table by identifying the slope and the y-intercept. Then you can substitute these values into the slope-intercept form for a linear function. This lesson builds on a students' knowledge of finding slope from a pair of input/output values and writing linear functions. The task has the student use a set of input/output values to write a linear function and then use the function to predict when a car salesman will reach his sales goal. Students will be able to write and use linear functions when faced with a situation where using a linear function is applicable. Vocabulary: Input/output table, linear function
