In this lesson, students practice revising an informational draft about a new club at school with a focus on using parentheses in a variety of ways to add more information. Specifically, students use parentheses to indicate an acronym, enclose dates of someone's life, include nonessential information, and give a measurement equivalent. A video models the thought process writers use to apply the targeted skill and improve their draft. The video prompts students to pause periodically and interact with the items on the Student Practice Sheet.
