Lesson objective: Determine the type of division problem using real-life situations.

This lesson helps to build procedural skills with determining the type of division problem represented in real-life situations. Different strategies are used here because it supports the idea that the meaning of division is always the same, despite the strategy used and type of division problem. This work develops students' understanding that the meaning of division is always the same.

Students engage in Mathematical Practice 2 (Reason abstractly and quantitatively) as they consider the context of division problems to determine what each value represents.
