Lesson objective: Create a box plot to represent a data set.

This lesson helps to build procedural skill with creating box plots. The five number summary is used here because it supports the understanding of which landmarks are shown in a box plot. This work develops students' understanding that data displays should be used along with calculations when reporting data.

Students engage in Mathematical Practice 4 (Model with Mathematics) as they as the create a box plot to represent a data set using the Five Number Summary.
