Lesson objective: Write equivalent expressions using the greatest common factor and the distributive property.

This lesson provides an opportunity for students to apply their knowledge and understanding of the distributive property to a mathematical situation. Students are asked to find missing addends, factors and products on area models and write equivalent expressions to represent the area of the models.
