This lesson provides an opportunity for students to apply their knowledge and understanding of addition and subtraction to a real-life situation. Students are asked to use drawings and objects to solve addition as "put together" situations.

- Addition and subtraction can be used to solve real-world problems.
Skills students will use:
- Counting up to 10 objects (Kindergarten, Unit 2)
- Adding numbers to 10
- Subtracting numbers to 10
Students engage in Mathematical Practice 4 (Model with mathematics) as they use drawings and objects to solve addition and subtraction problems.
