Lesson objective: Create a line plot for measurement data.

This lesson helps to build procedural skills with creating line plots. A line plot is used here because it supports students as they find ways to display measurement data they have collected. This work develops students' understanding that we can display measurement data by making a line plot.

Students engage in Mathematical Practice 1 (Students will make sense of problems and persevere in solving problems by generating, collecting, and interpreting data) as they find a way to use measurement to represent their favorite number, and create a class line plot to represent the data collected.
