This socratic seminar lesson plan is strategically placed in the resource trajectory after Resource #6, when students have encountered several mediums of new information on a gradient of increasing complexity about adult stem cells. The discussion will allow students to develop and practice their speaking and listening skills while solidifying their topic knowledge and new vocabulary before moving onto the remaining Expert Pack resources. The remaining resources expand the topic focus to the potential medical applications of adult stem cell research. Preparation for the socractic seminar is in support of SL8.2 and the discussion tracker supports SL8.1d.  The lesson plan was developed based on the assumption that students had already experienced socratic seminar and that it is a familiar frame for discussion.
