Lesson objective: Fluently solve multi-step inequalities in one variable.

This lesson helps to build fluency with solving inequalities. The number line is used here because it helps students to visualize the relationships and prepares them for graphing inequalities. This work develops students' understanding that Inequalities can be solved using the same kinds of operations used for solving equations.

Students engage in Mathematical Practice 2 (Reason abstractly and quantitatively) as they use a familiar procedure to find solutions to algebraic inequalities.
