Lesson objective: Write algebraic inequalities to match a written verbal description.

This lesson helps to build procedural skill with writing inequalities. This work develops students' understanding that an algebraic expression can be less than, greater than, or equal to another.

Students engage in Mathematical Practice 7 (Look for and make use of structure) as they understand the meaning implied by written verbal descriptions and translate it into a mathematical algebraic model.
