Additional Notes:

  • Consider linking the audio of the text on a class website for use throughout the unit.

  • Prior to the lesson, write the following claims on individual sheets of chart paper and display around the room:

    • “We have no difficult problem in America.”

    • “We have a marvelous form of government.”

    • “It is necessary to save the government of this country and the American People.”

    • “Centralized power… is the trouble.”

  • For larger classes, duplicate the claims as necessary.
