This lesson builds on students’ work with multiplicative relationships between ratios and writing ratio equations. Students will match equivalent ratios and equations with ratios. This task builds toward recognizing proportional relationships, representing proportional relationships using equations as well as working with rational numbers. Big Ideas: A ratio can be represented as an equation. An equation describes the proportional relationship between quantities in a ratio or rate. Vocabulary: equation
