This series of close reading lesson plans was created by a member of the 2015 Delaware Dream Team. The teacher will reread the text and guide the students through a second reading asking supporting questions to help students understand the phrase “I wouldn't trust Fox as far as I could throw the farmer’s tractor.” The focus question will help the students understand both the characters of Fox and Rooster, which is necessary for answering the culminating question. Special Materials: A copy of the text for each student. Highlighters
