2M3 C17 L82 You’ve Got Mail: -ch/-tch (all phases)

 You've Got Mail!

Teacher Preparation:

  • Teacher assigns or prepares to display the activity.


  1. Teacher models the activity by choosing one picture, saying the word aloud. Teacher drags the card to the appropriate mailbox sorting by the spellings: -tch/-ch.
  2. Students begin by choosing a picture and “reading it,” and then deciding in which mailbox to place it. Teacher observes and helps students as needed.
  3. Repeat as time allows.
  4. Students can write some of the words by typing in the text boxes under the correct mailbox on the "Write Words" tab or by using paper and pencil.
