Students reread “Volume II: Chapter XIII, Why the Americans Are So Restless in the Midst of Their Prosperity” by Alexis de Tocqueville and determine the connotative meaning of key terms over the course of the text and how they contribute to the development of de Tocqueville’s central ideas.  Student also determine de Tocqueville’s definition of the American Dream and his opinion on the attainability of the American Dream.
