Students analyze the syntax in “Hollywood Dreams of Wealth, Youth, and Beauty” by using note cards to rearrange sentence parts and examine how the changes impact meaning. Students also analyze the author’s point of view regarding the American Dream and its attainability.  For homework, students answer a question about how the structure of the text supports the development of central ideas.
