Double It or Leave It

Teacher Preparation:

  • Teacher assigns or prepares to display the activity.

Procedure:

  1. Teacher models the activity by reading the first word.
  2. Teacher types each word into the appropriate box in the chart and decides whether to double the ending consonant or not, reviewing why the consonant was or was not doubled.
  3. Students read each word, add the ending, and type it in the corresponding box in the chart.
  4. Repeat as time allows.
