Big Ideas: A whole number is a multiple of its factors. This lesson will have students finding multiples of a number by using an area model or a number bond. In the previous lesson students learned how to find multiples using number lines and number tables. This lesson introduces 2 more strategies students can use to find multiples. Being able to find multiples is imperative to understanding multi-digit multiplication. Vocabulary: multiple, factor, number bond, area model, equation, whole number Special Materials: grid paper markers, crayons, or colored pencils
