The focus of this lesson is on finding evidence to show how and why the zoo keepers give animals opportunities to behave naturally with their food in captivity. Students will find this information in the third section, "Play with your food." Students will use the text-dependent questions to show their understanding that what looks like "play" are actually natural behaviors that are an important part of each animals daily activities. The lesson begins with a rereading of the text. Direct the students to read the section headings and find the section which discusses how animals interact with their food in the zoo. Special Materials: Copies of the text and student guided notes
