The Day 4 exploration of "The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck" focuses on what the fox's real plan was when he offered Jemima a place to lay her eggs, as well as if the plan was successful. Readers are asked to look closely at the ending of the text in order to fully understand the implications of the characters' final actions and dialogue of the story. This focus question relates to the culminating writing task because it provides a foundation for students to collect clues that prove the fox's motive.
