This lesson focuses on finding evidence in the text to support the description in the first section heading that feeding the animals in the National Zoo is "a huge task." The day begins with a rereading of the text and asks students to find sentences that contain the word "huge," or other words that describe big sizes or complex operations. Students may work in pairs to find those sentences. It is important that students understand the zoo's feeding is "huge" in all senses of the word: big animals, large quantities of food, careful attention to detail, and creative solutions to animals' different needs. Special Materials: Copies of the text and student guided notes
