Today, readers will focus on a pivotal scene where lazy Mouse and rude Rooster’s moods eventually contribute to their being caught. This question also provides a great chance to engage readers in the fun of RL.2.6; students will demonstrate the different points of view of characters by speaking in different voices. The student note pages can be collected at the end of the day and used as a formative assessment. Special Materials: Students should have access to the following materials for this lesson: • Copies of anchor text for each student. • Copies of the notes page for each student. • Chart paper with the focus question and Rooster and Mouse's language for whole group shared or interactive writing activity (see student note- taking sheet focus question for example).
