Day 5: "Macbeth", Act I Scene 5

This lesson focuses on answering the culminating writing task prompt. The day begins with a silent rereading of the text. Students are then asked to refer to certain words, phrases and lines in order to analyze, in paragraph form, how Shakespeare develops the theme of ambition, through a lack of conformity regarding gender roles. This culminating writing task should be completed independently. Special Materials: Students should have access to the following materials for this lesson: -Student guided notes sheet -Copies of the anchor text for all students
