In this lesson, students begin to construct the meaning of Alice's size change as a recurring symbol in the story. Students will examine Alice's thoughts, emotions, and actions as she encounters this particular challenge. The lesson should begin with a summary of the text. Students may work in small groups or partners as they return to the pages indicated on the student notes sheet. The focus question should be completed independently.
