Students will continue reading the short story, “To Build a Fire” by Jack London, which has similar ideas and themes about human-animal relationships and the wild. In this lesson, they will analyze the setting, examine how words and phrases establish tone and mood, and analyze what a character’s decisions reveal about his character.
