In this lesson, students explain the relationships between individuals in two texts by engaging in accountable talk about Newton and Galileo’s contributions to the telescope.  This is students’ first opportunity to experience accountable talk to prepare for the extension task, and after the discussion, they reflect on the process. They practice accountable talk in more depth in lesson 26 when they engage in a fishbowl discussion.
