Students present on their countries of research in jigsaw groups and take notes on group members’ presentations.

Additional Materials:

  • Julian Text Access Document

  • Student completed main idea and details chart notes (Teacher Exemplar)

  • Blank main idea and details chart for taking notes on group members’ presentations. Make stapled packets with country names pre-written on top in the order in which students will present in their groups.

  • Presentation Rubrics. Make stapled packets with enough rubrics in each packet so that group members can give feedback to each presenter in their group.

  • Student presentation note cards, completed in the previous lesson

  • Teacher exemplar presentation note cards, completed in the previous lesson

  • Chart paper titled “Strong Presentations”; draw a blank T-chart underneath the title; label one side “Look like” and one side “Sound like.”

  • Strong Presentations chart (Teacher Exemplar)

  • Jigsaw instructional strategy sheet
