This lesson focuses on tracking changes in character relationships by focusing on key events. The day starts with a shared reading of the text, with a possible scaffold of students acting out key events. As a class and in partnerships, students then answer text-dependent questions, which explore Keesh's culture and his changing status within the village. The focus question task should be completed independently. Special Materials: Students should have access to the student guided notes sheet and copies of the anchor text.
