As we continue our close reading of "To Build a Fire," students begin to examine the point of view of the man. They will examine how his point of view develops over the course of the text. This will lead students to a better understanding of how the man's pride affects his decisions throughout the plot, and how the consequences of those decisions lead to the man's death.
