This lesson focuses on finding important details in two sections of the text that explain how coleoids use camouflage. Students compare and contrast these details--an essential skill required to answer the focus question. The day begins with a read aloud of pages 2-3 of section "Why Coleoids Use Camouflage," and pages 4-5 of section "More Tricks." Students are then asked to reread the sections independently prior to exploring the text-dependent questions. Students will highlight important details that explain how coleoids use camouflage. The focus questions should be completed independently.
