Big Ideas: Equations can be written for functions modeling data represented in diagrams. Organizing data will help in answering quantitative questions. Students will apply their knowledge of functions in order to write equations for a life situation represented in a diagram. The task will ask students to write functions for data modeled in a diagram. Functions will be a fundamental concept in algebra and future high school math courses. NOTE: function notation is addressed in later lessons. Vocabulary: function
